Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, Pict: CookandBemerry

8 slices bacon

16 large shrimp, peeled and deveined

barbeque seasoning

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (230 degrees Celcius). See the best oven for cooking here.

Prepare 1/2 slice of bacon and wrap shrimp with it, securing with a toothpick. Use the  large shrimp because the cooking time for the large shrimp and the bacon is quite similar. You have to precook the bacon a little If you use the medium-sized shrimp or small one.

Line a jelly roll pan and put a heavy duty foil on it, then place the baking rack in the pan. Place the wrapped shrimp on the rack, and sprinkle with the barbecue seasoning, sprinkle the both side.

Let the wrapped shrimp sit for around 15 minutes. The color of the bacon will turn from creamy white to a little opaque, and the seasonings will soak into the bacon.

Cook the bacon for approximately 15 minutes. The rack is used to keeps the shrimp from sitting in the draining bacon fat. With a little luck, you won’t tear the foil — you can throw that away and only have to scrub the rack.
